Fees for outings must be paid prior to the event, unless stated otherwise.  If payment is not received, your spot will be given to the next person on the waiting list.

After registering for an event, participants will receive an email the week of the event with directions, details, and a list of what to bring.  If you have questions or need to change your reservation, please contact us at (803)771-0870.

Sunset Full Moon Paddle on Lake Marion

When: June 22

 

spiersEnjoy a beautiful sunset and full moon paddle on Lake Marion. While you're there, you'll spot numerous ospreys nesting in the area, as well as an assortment of wading birds and the occasional alligator sunning on the sandy beaches. We will start our trip from Spiers Landing in Cross and explore the area, including historic Church Island.

Ladies Hike on the Wateree Passage of the Palmetto Trail

Pinopolis Locks Paddle with lunch at Gilligan's

When: July 13

 

pinopolisExplore the Pinopolis Lock at Santee Cooper's Jefferies Hydroelectric Station--by kayak! The Pinopolis Lock was the highest single-lift lock in the world at the time of its construction. In the lock, boats up to 150 feet long can be raised or lowered the 75-foot difference between the Tailrace Canal and Lake Moultrie.

 

We will take a short paddle from Lake Moultrie and enter the locks, taking us up to the Tailrace Canal, which leads to the Cooper River. We will paddle two miles from the locks and stop at Gilligan's at the dock for lunch. After lunch, we will take a walking tour of the locks with Santee Cooper staff. The length of this trip is approximately four miles.
